To develop a Java based speech application “javax.speech” is the core package required but it does not come along with any of the JDK.They are recommended to be got from 3 rd parties by sun.

If you can google “javax.speech” you can find in many forum’s people asking where can i download “javax.speech” package.The most common reply will be giving these two links:

http://freetts.sourceforge.net/docs/index.php

in fact thats the right answer!:)To be frank even i never knew where javax.speech package was there i searched a lot but never found the exact answer:(

Then where “javax.speech” is actually present?

Here is the solution:

1.download any one of the above links and extract them.
2.Go to lib folder install JSAPI.exe ,it will create a Executable Jar file(jsapi.jar).
3.Right click and open with WinZip.

3.Now right click and extract “javax” folder

4.Now you have got javax.speech package.Done:0)
