Method 1:

1.Login in to Messenger.
2.Click on Contacts->Message Archive
3.In the new window that opens up you can see your chat history under Messages folder.

Method 2:

1.Login in to Messenger.
2.Double click any of the contacts and then press Alt + Shift + v.
3.In the new window that opens up you can see your chat history under Messages folder.

To change the Archive Setting press Ctrl + Shift + p

How to save Chat History in Yahoo Messenger

You can save the chat log by pressing save button (floppy icon) that’s available at top left of the window or by clicking Message > Save.
