How to Find if Someone is Spying your Gmail Account?|Checklist

In current scenario nothing is safe in Internet World.Email accounts getting hacked ,web sites being defaced have become very common.

Here are some tips to check if some one is spying your Gmail account.

When some one hacks your account he/she might demand something to give back your account or might refer to silently spy your account without your knowledge to gain access to privileged details.To be on the safer side always do the following checks

Check 1:Last Account Activity

Look right at the bottom of your screen at the center ,many might have not noticed this feature.You can find details of when and who(IP) last accessed your account.You will be pretty much sure when you have accessed the account last time if the details does not correlate then its very much sure that someone else other then you have accessed your account.Then Kindly change your password,security question and secondary email address.

Check 2:Forward a Copy Option

Its is one of the nice feature that Gmail has but it can be misused.

Click on Settings-> Forwarding and POP/IMAP

See to that its disabled unless and until you have set one yourself.
If you find some strange unknown Email id your sure being spied by some one.Take above mentioned actions.In this method hacker does not even need to login in to your account he will silently be receiving your emails right into his Inbox.

Check 3:Filters

Click Setting->Filters.See to that its empty unless and until you have set it yourself.

Then Kindly change your password,security question and secondary email address.

There existed a Bug with this feature which almost lead a Webmaster lose his Website .The bug will set filter option as soon as you click on a link from the hacker site while you are logged in to your account.But Now the bug is fixed!

    Well Nice post. Well, apart from that you could also add one more point like if you see unusual activity on your mail id like Selecting Favorites and deleting them….

    Hmm am exactly doing all of these from long back.. I would strongly recommend every one to use the second option to have a backup of the inbox always.
