books
We all know that there are ‘N’ number of books in Google books database but few books can only be read and cannot be downloaded:(

One way to download any Google Book as PDF is using Google Downloader but it requires .NET framework for it to work.

Here is a way to do it just with few small software’s.It might look lengthy but it’s simple read on. I will explain in two parts

Note:Mozilla Browser Required

Part1:

Saving Google books as images via Script:

1.Install GreaseMonkey

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748

2.Restart the browser.Install this Script

http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/37933

Click on the install option available at top right.

3.Install FlashGot addon and restart the browser.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/220

4.Install ImageConvertplus

http://www.imageconverterplus.com

5.Now visit any Google book page.It will look like this you will find “Download this book” button
google books download

6.Click on it.Wait till it extracts all the image once done a alert message will come wait until that.

7.Now select all the links ,right click and click on FlashGot selection browse and select the location where to save and click OK.

Part 2:

Binding all the Downloaded Google books images as a Single PDF

This is the really tricky part i really found it hard to find a software that does this key reason is the images are saved with Unknown Extension software are mostly available to convert images with known format in to PDF.

1.Open image plus converter ,drag and drop all your saved images in to it.

2.Select PDF option and save as multipage file option

google books

3.And click “start” button now the pdf will be saved in “Documents and Settings“.

    Hey,

I carried out the steps, but my resulting PDF has the pages in the wrong order and does not seem to contain all the available pages from the book. (The watermark from the free version of ImageConverter Plus is also somewhat annoying).

All works fine until I try to convert in image converter, it produces a .pdf document but it’s only 5kb and is unreadable by adobe. When I look at the error message in image converter at each file it says “Error saving file” (thanks for that!). Any advice on this crucial last step, or perhaps another program that might do the image conversion? Thanks!

Thanks, that kinda works….but not really. G2pdf doesn’t seem to like the .png image file type, so I tried, and can use the original image converter program to convert the .png’s to .jpgs. And I looked at the actual .jpgs, and they look good (I changed the resolution to be an 8 X 11 page), however, when I drag the jpgs into G2pdf and convert to a pdf it comes up as a blank pdf, I can open it, and its the right number of pages, but nothing there. Same happens when I use Adobe pro….any thoughts?

Thanks for the reply…still no luck though. Same result. just blank pages :( It wouldn’t surprise me, except for the fact that I can open up the jpg and they look fine on their own..they are created by image converter…but they’re still jpgs…
